Mobility concept for
cities in the Ruhr area.

The InnovationCity Bottrop has set itself the goal of reducing the consumption of CO2 by 50% until the year 2020. The Bottilette, the shoe for Bottrop, the so-called “city of short distances” helps in reaching this goal. The shoe is for walking short distances, for example to the local corner store (“Büdchen”) or the chip shop (“Pommesbude”). The slipper takes on the character of the Ruhr area, which is still defined by strong-willed people with rough edges. This character is formally shown with the edgy, angular aesthetic of the design. Quirks and wear are no longer flaws, rather they give the shoe character and an individual aesthetic. By wearing the shoe, you are making a statement. Leave the car at home and show your character!
